Tea has been a commodity worldwide for thousands of years. There have been few attempts to push the boundaries or modernize the tea-drinking experience and it certainly is not seen as fun and sexy.
Use the packaging as a canvas for graphic art that reflects the time and craftsmanship of the signature tea blends inside, creating an instant visual that literally says Art + Tea.
The visuals align with the experience of enjoying each individual tea, creating a personal connection in both the retailer and consumer before they take the first sip. We elevated the packaging, using upscale black glass apothecary jars – something totally unexpected in the tea space. The sleek jars, combined with the bold, graphic patterns are reminiscent of something you would expect from a luxury fashion house. Our mission was to bring tea into modern culture as something that should not only be fun, but also coveted.
By taking the tea world by surprise, this redesign has spawned interest in the already trendy world of high end coffee shops and roasters. Coffee houses have been excited to increase their tea offering with something they can be proud to display on their shelves to generate interest in their customers. Creating curated collections of tea has also increased demand for trial across all Art of Tea’s blends. The fun of trying a location-based tea or weather-based tea has added a new dimension to the tea drinking experience.
